Background
BC Superfriends was an organization that co-produced and hosted geeky events that were 2SLGBTQIA+ and ally welcoming. Events included geek parties, cosplay and crossplay events, and a float in the Vancouver Pride Parade. The group operated from April 2013 - March 2015
Goal
The goal of this project was to create a banner to be carried in the Vancouver Pride Parade. The design also had to accommodate other uses, like being hung from a large table, on a booth or a back wall.
Implementation
The banner was designed in Illustrator, then printed on matte scrim vinyl on a large format printer and then finished with hemming edges and adding grommets. I created the banner from design to prepress, printing, finishing to pick up.
Elements of the design include rocket stock image (©H2Oone - Can Stock Photo Inc.) as a base that I modified in colour and illustration changes.
All other graphic elements and typesetting done by me (aside from social media logos). Rainbow Illustration with text blend done by me.
